            In short: BlurPass processes everything on your device. We don't collect your photos, location, or personal data. The only third-party service is Google AdMob for showing ads, which can be removed with BlurPass Pro.
        

1. Introduction

BlurPass ("we," "our," or "us") is a privacy-first photo editing app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. BlurPass is designed to be an offline, on-device utility — your photos and data never leave your device.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No user accounts: You don't need to sign up or log in.
No servers: We have no backend. All photo processing happens locally.
No analytics: We don't use analytics SDKs to track your behavior.
No photo uploads: Your photos are never transmitted anywhere.

3. Photo Library Access

BlurPass requests access to your Photo Library for the following purposes:

Reading photos: To let you select photos for metadata scrubbing and blurring.
Saving photos: To save the processed copy back to your library.
Local only: Photos are processed using Apple's Vision and Core Image frameworks entirely on your device.
Originals untouched: We never modify your original photos. BlurPass creates a new copy.

4. Location Data (Metadata)

BlurPass reads GPS coordinates from your photos' EXIF metadata solely to identify and strip it. We do not track your device's real-time location, and we do not save or share any location data.

5. Face and Text Detection

BlurPass uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect faces and text. This runs on your iPhone's Neural Engine. No biometric data is stored, shared, or sent anywhere.

6. Third-Party Services — Advertising

BlurPass uses Google AdMob to display advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect certain data for the purpose of serving and measuring ads:

Device identifiers: Advertising ID (IDFA), if you have granted permission.
Usage data: Ad interactions (impressions, taps).
IP address: Used for approximate location-based ad targeting (not precise GPS).

You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's Settings > Privacy > Tracking. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure.

BlurPass Pro: If you purchase BlurPass Pro (a one-time in-app purchase), all ads are permanently removed and AdMob stops collecting any data.

7. In-App Purchases

BlurPass offers a non-consumable in-app purchase ("BlurPass Pro") processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Purchase validation is handled by Apple's StoreKit framework on your device.

8. Children's Privacy

BlurPass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since photo processing is fully on-device and we don't collect data, the app is safe for users of all ages.

9. Data Retention

Since we don't collect data, there is nothing to retain. AdMob's data retention is governed by Google's privacy policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
